Summer School in TAIS

Hi my name is Stephanie, and I am a Taiwanese. In the year of 2020 we are here of TAIS to have the summer school. We are having a grate time here in every summer school. Because of the COVID-19, every student in this school could not travel to the other country or to go studying ion the other country. we had many different classes like communication, writing, swimming, PE, and many others, but right now I was still in the ELL class, some classes we have it in everyday.

On Monday to Friday, in the morning, we had the three important classes and a PE. PE: we had swimming on Monday, frisbee on Tuesday, fun gym on Thursday, and no PE for Friday. Actually, I do not like to have the regular PE class it is still fun, but I just do not like it. I like the PE class in the summer school because it looks more like playing with friends, you just play and no learning and test. In the afternoon, we had class in almost three hours we’re fun, Monday we had a lot fun learning in the science I like it too. Tuesday, we having the ART class we learn how to make things. Wednesday, we had a steam class, but actually it like a computer class. Thursday, we just had a reading class we’re not only reading books we’re learning things too. Friday, all the ELL students are divided into six groups and to play some interesting games.

This is the best summer school I’ve ever had.

Blog 10

The blog challenge was fun and there were many interesting things to do, but there is nothing I like very much inside.

I want to say that we can do this as a class or by yourself. You don’t need to use the blog they give , you can still use google side for the challenge. For me it’s not attractive task, we have to write it every week  because it’s a challenge and it can show how well you can do on writing.

At last, I know that I don’t like writing but I still try my best to finish the writing. However I often delayed because wrote very slowly.

In the challenge I learned that people’s comment is very valuable and the challenge gave me a chance to look at other people’s blog. In the future I might write my own  blog and I will share my featured work to everyone.

I’m in 9th grade at Taiwan Adventist International School. As you may have guessed from the name, it’s a Christian American international school located in the mountains of central Taiwan. Here are five things I’ve noticed where it differs from Taiwanese schools.

First, you need to live in the dorm. Because the school is far from the cities. Second, you need to speak English at most of the time. The reason is this is a American international school, besides all the teachers are not Chinese, so we can only speak English to them. Third, the restaurant only provides vegetarian food. Since this is a Christian school and it belongs to the Adventist system, based on health and religious and concern, only plant-based food is allowed in the campus. Fourth, you can have American high school degree after graduation. Then you can go to other countries’ school to study. Fifth, the campus is broad. Therefore we need to walk a lot everyday witch is very good for our health.

At the end we can all know that there is no school that are the same. This is a very unique school and I like it very much.

“How to study Math?”

Today, I want to talk about “How to study Math?”

Study Math is not hard, you just need to spend much time and focus on it.

Step1: Understand the meaning of the equation or others. There are many equations or formulas are in the world. If you want to remember all, I think it is impossible. Going to know it.

Step 2: Remember formulas. Remember the formulas because it can help you smoother.

Step 3: Bring numbers into the formula. Put the numbers into the formula and get the solution.

Step 4: Calculate the answer as required. Get answers according to the formula.

How to play cello best

How to play cello best

Playing cello is not easy. If you want to play the cello well, you have to follow these steps.

Step 1: You have to be ready.

  1. Prepare the chair, sheet music, and music stand in place
  2. Wash your hands because the oil from your hands can damage the cello and strings.
  3. Open the cello case and remove the cello.

Step 2: Tuning cello

You need a correct pitch. If you don’t do this part, You won’t have a good practice result. Sometimes I use my ear to tuning, but if you want to be correctly, you need to use the tuner.

Step 3: Pair of hands put on the cello

Before you play you need to put your hands correctly. If you are right-handed, The left is on the neck. The right hand will hold the bow.

Step 4: Warm-Up

You will pull the bow back and forth, and practice scales. After you warm up your hands, you can practice a song. To start, practice an easy song as part of your warm up.

Step 5: Do your main song

First, you need to know the structure of the song.

Second, you have to practice for a while.

Third, do the whole song one time.

Step 6: Add more emotion body language.

You need to know which section you need to add emotion. This can help people clearly know what do you want to express. You can use size, sound, speed, and other ways to accomplish this.

Step 7: Just remember, after your practice, you need to wipe down the cello with a dry cloth.

After you follow these steps and become better, you will enjoy the music you produce and others may even enjoy it, too.

My Reflection

Today, I want to talk about my reflection.

I feel so cool when I am a blogger because this is my first time to do it. I like to be a blogger because it can let me share a lot of my ideas. I learn how to make a comment to each other and write the paragraph about something. When I was making a paragraph, I would think many things and write it down, that can make me happy and excited! For example, If I have my favorite title, I will be excited and write many experiences in my blog. When I don’t have any ideas, I will ask my teacher and my friends.

I like to be a blogger because it can let me have more time to write a paragraph and practice my English. The blog can let me know how to communicate with people in foreign countries. What I like most about doing this blog challenge is to share something correct to the strangers. People commented on a question about the title in my blog. When I see interesting comments I can reply to the comment!

I enjoy reading people’s comment on my blog! There are titles in my blog: About the Christmas, Taiwan, Contrast TAIS to Previous School…

端午節

In this year 2019, the Dragon boat festival was on the date of June seventh.

On the dragon boat festival day, we usually eat rice dumplings in memory of Qu Yuan. In 278 BC, the Chu State is defeated by the Qin State. On hearing of the defeat, Qu Yuan was in great despair and committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. When the local people heard of Qu Yuan’s death, they were very sad and rowed out on the river to search for his body, but they were unable to find him. To prevent his body eaten by the fish, the locals paddled their boats up and down the river, hitting the water with their paddles and beating drums to scare the fish and evil spirits away. They threw lumps of rice into the river to feed the fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuan’s body.

Traditionally, people also drink realgar wine and use wormwood to purify their body and their houses. These two things are very good at preventing infectious disease in hot summer.

I’m in 9th grade at Taiwan Adventist International School. As you may have guessed from the name, it’s a Christian American international school located in the mountains of central Taiwan. Here are five things I’ve noticed where it differs from Taiwanese schools.

In this school, we live in the dorm, but in the previous school, I lived at home. The dorm has many rooms, each room has four beds and four desks. The room is not big but it is enough for us. The dorm has a very comfortable living room. We have to do the laundry by ourselves. I think lining in the dorm makes me more independent.

In the previous school, the courses are fixed and everyone has the same schedule despite the differences in the individual level. In our school, all courses are taught in English, everyone has their own schedule according to their level. We still learn Chinese, but we don’t use the textbook, the Chinese is still difficult to me. We also have Bible classes. We do our homework on the internet.

I love our school and I am very to be in it.
